Drought Over

The Summer and Fall drought is finally

over and the river is flowing high again
 

 

New Outdoor Showers

This summer a new outdoor showers

were built and opened in the Fall

The tubs below the lodge are getting a makeover

this month. They are losing the old tile and getting

a new surface that will be colored when done.

 

Sunflowers by the Lodge 
 

The main firehouse got a concrete floor poured inside

 and out last week. It's looking better all the time 

thanks to Jordan Pollack, the Breitenbush 

Fire Crew and the many donations we receive.

There was a beautiful eclipse of the full moon last night

This may be the lowest river level in several decades

Detroit Lake Fireworks

Detroit Lake had fireworks over the lake last Sat. The lake is low because of the lack of rain and snow last winter.

Owl Sighting

An owl was hanging out this afternoon near my cabin.

A short while later my neighbor Nicole watched it swoop down to catch and eat a mouse.

Sunset With Lightning

Friday's sunset was full of color and lightning 
 

 

Far Meadow Pool Rebuilt

the far meadow pool was rebuilt making it larger

A View Restored

The view from the far meadow pool for years now has

been of the meadow with a temporary water filter house

building in it. That building finally came down recently.

Magic Pool

A sudden drop in temperature makes

the steam at the Magic Pool very visible

New Sauna

The old sauna was replaced with a new sauna

that is a little taller and has wheelchair access

Bird songs at Dawn

Skunk Cabbage sprouts in the marshes

Path behind the Lodge

The path behind and below the lodge has been closed

for a couple of years due to erosion.

 It was rebuilt and reopened a month or so ago.

The Breitenbush river rushes through 25 ft. wide channel downstream from hot springs. And photo of the river from our bridge on same day where it is about 90 ft wide.
